Who the English-speaking world looks up when it looks up K-pop
Every Korean musician and musical group with an English Wikipedia article — 2,362 of them — and how many times each article was opened by a person over 30 days, 2026-07-08 to 2026-08-06. Nobody voted. We counted.

Attention is not popularity. A page climbs for good news and for bad, for a comeback and for a court date. We report the count and not the reason, and nothing here is a ranking of who is liked.
154 of these 2,362 acts are also in our actors list — Wikidata records "singer" among their occupations and they are also working actors. That is 6.5% of the names but 23.1% of the views. We have not removed them, because Jisoo and Cha Eun-woo really are both. We show the list both ways instead.

The top of that list is not what most readers expect from a K-pop page, and that is the point of showing it. Take out everyone who is also in the actors list and the same thirty days read differently:
- BTS383,622 views
- Jung Kook126,923 views
- Jennie (singer)112,397 views
- Blackpink105,378 views
- Eric Nam100,562 views
- Jin (singer)84,463 views
- Jimin81,970 views
- Suga76,152 views
- RM (musician)75,911 views
- IU (entertainer)74,413 views
Neither list is the correct one. The first is everyone Wikidata calls a Korean musician; the second is the part of that group who do not also act. Which one you want depends on the question you are asking, so we publish both rather than choose for you.
Attention is concentrated, but less than viewing is
The single most looked-up act holds 3.9% of the attention across 2,362 acts. On Netflix's global chart the single biggest Korean title holds a fifth of five years of viewing. Both are concentrated; the audience for music spreads its attention more widely than the chart spreads its hours. These are different measures on different populations, and we are placing them beside each other rather than claiming one explains the other.
Rising fastest
Last seven days against the first seven of the window. Acts below 300 views this week are excluded — ten views becoming forty is a fourfold rise and means nothing.
- Seonghwa×163.11 · 2,936 views this week
- Park Jin-young also an actor×158.53 · 5,390 views this week
- Haewon (singer)×100.44 · 904 views this week
- Wonhee×56.41 · 4,118 views this week
- Sunoo×16.74 · 887 views this week
- Huh Ji-won×9.96 · 458 views this week
- Sobangcha×7.97 · 566 views this week
- HueningKai×7.76 · 2,343 views this week
- Anita Tsoy×7.24 · 941 views this week
- Lee Sun-bin also an actor×6.23 · 18,965 views this week
This column is kept apart from the totals on purpose. A sharp rise is a thing that happened, not a thing that is good. Merged into one ranking it would read as popularity, and we have no way to tell you which of these is a comeback and which is a headline nobody wanted.
What we wrote from this data
Where these numbers come from
- Wikimedia — Wikimedia Pageviews API (en.wikipedia, all-access, user). Human traffic only; bots and spiders are excluded by the API itself.
- Who is in the list, and why we did not choose. Wikidata — P27=Q884 (Korean citizenship) with occupation singer/rapper/composer/musician, plus musical groups reached by P31/P279* from Q215380 (so girl group, boy band and other subtypes count, not only the parent class) with P495=Q884. English Wikipedia article required for both. We did not pick favourites — a list we assembled by hand would be a list of our own taste. All 5 queries returned, so nothing is missing because a query failed.
- 2,361 of 2,362 were measured. 0 had no article under the name Wikidata gives, and 1 could not be fetched. A missing article is not zero views — it is a name we could not look up, and it is counted separately for that reason.
- Groups and individuals are not on the same scale. One group article collects the attention of everyone in it, so a group's number and a person's number do not mean the same thing. That is why they are in two tables and never added together.
- English Wikipedia only. This measures the English-speaking world, which is who this publication is for. It says nothing about attention in Korean, Japanese, Spanish or Indonesian.
- Thirty days is thirty days. A comeback, a tour date or a controversy inside the window moves an act a long way. Nothing here is a career total.
